Understanding identity and whether a person is transgender
This article was published in Medical News Today and it asks a very common question among people like me.
Am I transgender?
How can I tell if I'm transgender?
With approximately 1.4 million transgender people in the US alone (and this is a very light estimate) there are a lot of people asking themselves these questions.
But does Medical News Today's article help or hurt those looking for answers?
I read the article and I found it technically correct with a lot of good information about the subject matter.
It talks about understanding gender identity, identifying at trans or nonbinary, gender dysphoria and more.
But it does it in a rather clinical fashion and I for one feels that, while it provides technical information, it falls woefully short in the person to person category.
What I use to look for when I was seeking answers to these questions were first hand accounts from those who lived through it themselves. This article reads like corporation was hired to put together a reference list.
While the information in the article is good and thorough it lacks any human warmth or emotion.
It's like getting advice from Spock.
Live long and prosper.
