Women's Equality Day

Hi Cuties,

Today we will be talking about Women's Equality Day, which is today, August 26.  It was first observed in 1971 in observation of the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote in 1920 which was 102 years ago.

"On Women's Equality Day, we honor the movement for universal suffrage that let to the 19th Amendment, celebrate the progress of women over the years, and renew our commitment to advancing gender equity and protecting women's rights," President Biden said in a proclamation.

"This commitment is more important than ever in the wake of the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wage and eliminate a woman's constitution right to choose."

It wasn't until 1923 that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was created which would guarantee equal legal rights for all Americans regardless of sex and end legal distinctions between men and women with regard to divorce, employment, and other areas.

I wonder if the Neo-Women of today are considered to be part of this movement or do the Cis Women of today want us gone as much as the right?

I know what Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump would say.  Trump might try to curry our favor again like he did during his first campaign but I hope we aren't stupid enough to fall for that line of bullshit.

Don't get me wrong.  Trump did a lot of economic good for this country but at the cost of what?

Environmentalists would point to cleaner air and water and the rising sea level and the disappearing glaciers as proof.

But has there been much improvement since Biden stumbled into office?

Newsweek is touting Biden's $1.2 trillion infrastructure package, his $1.9 trillion COVID relief deal, the highest appointment of federal judges since Reagan, the Halt of Federal Executions and his commitment to combat climate change.

I guess the federal executions was to keep Hunter above ground until something else gets him.

Great, pick the right and business gets happy, pick the left and the masses benefit.

What the hell are we suppose to do?

I personally can't stand either of them and I would love to see the end of the "Two" party system.

Candidates should be selected by American voters based not on which party they belong to but what will they do that will benefit the person voting for them.

It sickens me when a politician is pushing an agenda just because the right or the left decided it's important.

Of course the one thing I would love to see that will probably never happen in my life span.

Honesty in politics.

Enough said.
