Ask Meeka (borrowed from Hannah)

Hi Cuties,

First thing, I would love to have a section on my site where I answer questions from my readers.

Unfortunately, no one sends me any questions.

So as a way to "prime the pump" hopefully, I am going to "borrow" a question from someone that I follow and read just about every day.

Her name is  Hannah McKnight and she has a beautiful website where she posts articles, stories, pictures and a page called Ask Hannah were she answers questions from her readers.

BTW, Hannah is beautiful and smart and is the creator of A Beginner's Guide to Crossdressing which is chock full of great information and not just for the beginner.

Well I could go on all day but on to the question.

One of her readers (and I won't reproduce the entire question/rant) wonders why the LGBT community keeps adding initials to the group.  Currently we are at LGBTQ2+ and the questioner wants to know why we don't just pick and name and stick with it.  

She suggests that we go with PRIDE which would be 1000% easier to remember and to spell and like most brand names the whole purpose is to get the public to associate the brand name with the product or service.

You don't see Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac or other car company changing the base brand.  They just add models like Mustang, Corvette and Coupe de Ville.

Hey, that's not have bad.

So instead of LGBTQ2+ we would have PRIDE and add subgroups like Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, etc.

In one way I like this idea.  It wouldn't change the fact that I'm Pride-Trans-Pan.

But doesn't that then separate us from our group?

I mean as the alphabet people, as I like to call us, we belong to a much larger, and very diverse family who, unlike the Osmund's, don't always get along.

Sure, we fight and bicker and pull each other's hair but stand the fuck by if someone from outside the family decides to treat one of us badly.

At least that's the way it should be.
