Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (AKA Great Value Trump (you know like at Wal-Mart)) has finally managed to stop life-saving medical care for more than 9K transgender Floridians who are on Medicaid.
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) condemns this stupidly political move that goes against the recommendations of every major medical association.
DeSantis has goose stepped all over the rights of the thousands of transgender children and adults in his march for, what he sees as greatness and will probably end in infamy.
"Gender-affirming care is lifesaving care. That care is now being shut off by a state agency that has been corrupted, weaponized, and stacked with extremists by a governor desperate to fuel his own political ambitions." said Nikole Parker, Equality Florida Director of Transgender Equality.
Florida's Department of Health sided with DeSantis when they released a preliminary report attaching the established standards of care which many consider to be lifesaving for those who suffer from the various afflictions that come with being transgender.
It was very recent that a federal appeals court ruled that "gender dysphoria" qualifies as a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"). This decision will give broader protection to transgender individuals suffering from dysphoria.
This is only the most recent attack by little Ronny against transgender Floridians.
Hopefully there will be a flood of lawsuits against the Governor's office and the Governor.
Besides, they deserve to get sued just like the Doctors that Ron says should.
