This time he is crowing about the success of his new Office of Election Crimes and Integrity and the arrest of 20 Floridians for voter fraud.
Five of the twenty were felons who believed that they had regained their voting rights upon completion of their sentence and probation.
"That is against the law and now they're going to pay the price for it, so they will be charged." DeSantis said.
Apparently in Florida if you are a felon and you have been convicted of murder or a sexual offense you cannot vote.
Regular felons are required to:
- Complete their Prison or jail time;
- Complete their parole, probation or other form of supervision; and
- Complete payment of all fines, fees, costs and restitution.
On top of that if you were convicted of a felony in another state you may be ineligible to vote.
First I am not a registered Democrat, but crap like this makes me really dislike Republicans in general.
Why in the name of Jupiter's Balls would someone make it harder to vote? It's bad enough if someone has been in prison and gone through their probation/parole and is trying to live right but to add extra crap to that is unconscionable.
By the way, in Nevada you don't have all that bullshit.
Gosh, the way Ron and his Jackbooted lackeys in the sunshine state are going they will have voter fraud wiped out in time for Trump to win again.
In Florida at least.
