Why is this happening?

One thing that the recent shit show in Florida has really brought to my attention is just how many Anti-Transgender bills/laws there are trying to put us back in the closet.

So I lied.  This is a list of the states that have Anti-Trans bills.  

Don't even get me started on the states with Anti-Trans laws on the books.

So the question in my mind is "why do they have it in for us"?

I know we present a strange and different way to look at an old and familiar world but it's not like we are taking anything away, right?

Except maybe we are.

Think about it, when this all started the average person felt safe in their gender and the gender of others.  They could trust what they saw and if they saw a guy in a dress they knew what to do about that too.

Now the world has turned and Laverne Cox, Chaz Bono and more are out and proud and a whole shit ton of us have finally stepped into the light to leave the closet behind forever.

Now people have to use more thought when dealing with each other.  There are a lot of changes to the world of sex, gender, dating and other stuff.

Saying no because someone is trans is now considered wrong and transphobic.  Does the same thing apply to saying no to a gay person?

Before people used the gay/trans panic defense to get away with murder but now not so much.

And with more of us out there in the world soaking up sunshine there are more and more people who are interacting with us, some positive and some not so good.

I have heard it said that we create our enemies with our successes and wins.

Personally I don't want to have any enemies and I certainly don't want to be caught up in a war over anything.

What do I want?  Same thing as many of you do.

To life my life and be happy.

What's so wrong with that?
