Looks like I get to rant again about Ron DeSantis and what he is doing to our rights in Florida.
The latest is about a 13year-old who showed up at a pro-choice protest wearing a bisexual Pride flag and was arrested and charged with a second-degree misdemeanor for a noise ordinance violation related to a new law that went into effect on July 1 which apparently prohibits the use of megaphones.
Lillie Johnson, who was accompanied by her mother was led off in handcuffs and put in the back of a police vehicle for transport and processing.
She has a court date for August 9th.
Nothing is said if she was jailed or bailed out pending court or not and no other arrests have been reported on yet.
There is a video of her arrest and after watching it I have to wonder why others were not arrested. Judging by the background noise it sounds like the other protesters were arrested. Her mom followed the officers shouting that Lillie should not resist and demanding the officers names.

The new law called the "Loud Music" law went into effect July 1 and prohibits sound produced by a radio, tape player, or other mechanical sound-making devices that is "plainly audible from at least 25 feet away.
It goes on to state that a citation can be issued that carries a $114.00 fine.

I understand that Police have a really tough job to do that I for one would not do for a living.
However, someone at some higher level had to come up with this rather creative application of a law that was designed to "quiet" loud stereos in cars.
Good job Ron for taking down a dangerous criminal.
