It's a sad, sad day today in America.
The Supreme Court of the United States has in a 5-4 decision overturned Roe V. Wade which has protected Americans since 1973.
What does all of that mean to you and me?
Well for one thing it means that individual states are now free to outlaw or severely restrict abortion.
It is believed that almost half of the states are preparing to do just that.
So you can't have kids or it doesn't impact you very much or you just don't give a shit and you are among the over 20 million Americans who identify as belonging to the LGBTQIA+ people?
According to the Los Angeles Blade it signals dark decades ahead for the LGBTQ community.
They go on to point out that the trans members of the group, which have been the subject of hostile legislations will be the first to feel the brunt of these changes.
The Federal Government has just signaled that it will not stand up for the rights of the individual to control what happens to their bodies, at least on a federal level.
That leaves this type of decision to the State governments and if you had not heard this before, there are a lot of states that don't like us too much.
If you want to see something that keeps me awake at night go to Freedom For All Americans.
Hell, right after overturning Roe Justice Clarence Thomas said the Court should now reconsider rulings that protect same-sex marriage, same-sex relationships, and contraception.
So what should we or what do we need to do?
First we need to know which lawmakers are for us and which are against us and support those that support us.
Second we need to identify the companies that are also on our side and not just those that throw up a pride flag in June. The companies that don't like us, we need to stop spending our dollars with them and start supporting the companies that truly support us.
You may have to do some research to find out but I can tell you for sure that it's worth it.
Why don't I just tell you?
I believe that you tend to value what you earn more than something that is given without effort.
I will give you one nugget of truth to take with you.
It is always much harder to get back something that you have lost.
It's called fait accompli.
Don't wait too long.
