What I'm thankful for

First let me start this by saying that I do not believe that this holiday should be anything other than a chance to reflect on those things we have to be thankful for and to connect with family.

If you are of the thought that Thanksgiving should be abolished because of the historical events, I don't agree.  Let's face it.  We would be hard pressed to find a group of humans on this planet that haven't been screwed by another group including those white Anglo-Saxon protestants who started Thanksgiving (AKA WASPs).

Hell, I'm 75% Irish and they have been screwed by almost everyone.

What this is about is a moment of reflection and appreciation.

For myself I have so many things to be grateful for that I wanted to list them and hopefully others would take a moment and reflect on those things in their lives.

I'm grateful for my health and the people in my life.  Family, friend and the love of my life whom I am blessed to be with.

The fact that I get to live as the person I was meant to be in a world like this one (even with all it's faults).

I'm grateful for my freedom from so many things and that I get to live in the greatest nation on earth.

I'm also grateful for the freedom to have this blog and to write what I feel needs to be said without fear that the law might come crashing through the door to stop me.

So for me, this Thanksgiving is just that.  A time to reflect, remember and to be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving.
