Netflix Employees Walkout over Chappelle Special

LOS ANGELES - Hundreds of employees of Netflix employees walked off the job in protest of the channels airing of what many defined as transphobic and "Team Trans" is demanding that the streaming giant remove the special permanently.

Protesters walked off the job around 10 a.m. Wednesday and held a rally to underscore the importance of content that does not trade the safety and dignity of marginalized communities in exchange for profit.

"Dave Chappelle doesn't get to suck the joy out of this moment. This is a moment where we are coming together in a unified effort," activist Ashlee Marie Preston said at Wednesday's rally. "This is a moment where we understand that it's one for all and all for one and we won't stop until justice is brought."

The walkout comes on the heels of the suspension of several vocal employees who criticized the company on social media.

"Gender is a fact.  Every human being in this room, every human being on earth, had to pass through the legs of a woman to be on earth." Chappelle said.  He goes on to drop anti trans and anti gay jokes throughout the special, even once mentioning how disappointed he was because a gay man refused to fight him in a bar and instead called the police.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has only gone so far as to admit that he mishandled the controversy by not communicating better with his employees.

You think?

So as I've said in a previous story I think we, the members of the LGBTQIA community need to stand together and send a very strong and unmistakable message to this company.

Play this game and you will not get our money.
